The Alexander Technique (AT) in simple terms, is the coordination of breathing, movement and posture. In the larger picture, AT is a profound method of reeducation of the entire body. The main principle of the technique involves stopping the habits you don’t want, to allow the life you do. Lessons in the technique involve gentle manipulation with hands and verbal guidance of the of the mind and body.
Dr. James came to the technique as a tool for his own singing 30 years ago and certified to teach it in 2009. Since then he has taught hundreds of students and trained many new teachers in NYC and Austin, Texas.
